Cocktails and Conversations: The J.Crew Men’s Shop

One of the joys of gathering with these gentlemen is witnessing their love for not only this community, but their support of the larger community and doing greater good. For the most part, this gathering was like many of the others - but this event had an element of “give back” to it that made it special.

The gentlemen met at the J.Crew Men’s Shop in Edgehill Village and we partnered with Project Return, a local non-profit organization that supports and aids men who are reentering the workforce post-incarceration. Since we are a men’s based group, it felt right when searching for a community based organization to partner with to search for one that helped men. Project Return was the perfect fit.

All attendees were asked to bring in new or gently used suiting; jackets, pants, shoes, dress shirts, ties, and more for donation as Project Return gives items to the gentlemen that they help. The men of The Commonwealth came through! We donated 18 blazers, 21 suits, 48 ties, 57 dress shirts, 19 trousers, 1 tuxedo, 18 pocket squares, belts, bowties, scarves, shoes, and sweaters for a grand total of over 180 items. We are so incredibly proud of this group and this partnership - this community does not just have to be about ourselves, and we proved that we are not.

Thanks to J.Crew for their support of this event, to Belle Meade Bourbon for their sponsorship and providing a tasting for all attendees, and for Blackrock Leather for the gifts for everyone. If you are not familiar, Blackrock Leather operates a family legacy company and creates products for leather restoration. Check them out and let them help you take care of your products. Thanks also to Barcelona Wine Bar for the delicious food and to Eric Adler Clothing for being on had to help with tailoring needs.
